Generate Facebook Marketplace Listings from an Inventory Spreadsheet
How-To Guide · Process Inventory
Writing a good Marketplace listing takes 10–15 minutes per item. Multiply that across a lot full of sheds, carports, or golf carts and it's a full day of work. The Process Inventory tool does it in one pass: upload your inventory spreadsheet, and AI writes an optimized title and description for every row — returned as an Excel file that's ready to post.
What You'll Need
- Your inventory in an Excel or CSV file (.xlsx, .xls, or .csv)
- The more detail per row, the better the listings — price, dimensions, features, condition, and any extra columns you track
Step 1 — Prepare Your Spreadsheet
Use our inventory template as a starting point, or bring your own file. You don't have to strip out extra columns — the AI reads every column in your sheet and works any useful details into the listing copy. Empty cells are simply skipped, never invented.
Step 2 — Upload the File
Open Process Inventory from your dashboard and drop your file into the upload box. Each row costs 1 credit, so a 40-item inventory uses 40 credits.
Step 3 — Choose a Writing Style
Pick how you want your listings to read. You can use a different style every run:
- Quick & Visual — short and punchy with emojis. Key specs and price only, made to stop the scroll.
- Balanced (default) — a short intro plus easy-to-scan bullets. Works for all inventory.
- Detail & Story — full descriptions focused on the buyer, with few emojis. Best for higher-ticket items.
Step 4 — Generate and Download
Hit generate and let the AI work through your file — usually 1–3 minutes depending on size. You'll get back an Excel file with a polished title, description, and pricing for every item.
💡 Formatting tip: after opening the downloaded file in Excel, click the DESCRIPTION column header, then click Wrap Text in the toolbar. Your listings will format neatly for easy reading and review.
Step 5 — Post to Facebook Marketplace
For most categories — portable buildings, carports, lawn equipment, and similar — you can bulk upload the finished spreadsheet straight into Facebook Marketplace, up to 50 listings per sheet. For vehicle categories (autos, motorcycles, powersports, marine), Facebook requires manual entry — your AI copy is still ready to paste in, one listing at a time. Pro Tip — Set Up Your Brand Profile First
In your account settings, fill out your Brand Profile — your voice, sales style, and go-to calls to action. Every listing the AI writes will sound like it came from your business, not a template.
